Following his 2011 solid timber ‘Martime’ chair design, the award-winning British industrial designer Benjamin Hubert has updated the last year’s version of the chair by lining its inner shell with upholstered panels in either leather or Kvadrat’s 100 % wool Divina MD textile. Launched earlier in April at Milan’s Salone del Mobile, the chair is manufactured by the Italian furniture brand Casamania.
More about the chair:
‘The new version offers soft upholstered panels inserted into the distinctive timber framework. The padded areas are available in both textile and leather options and can be simply interchanged or reupholstered as they are connected to the structure via velcro panels.
‘Maritime is inspired by the maritime world. An elegant and refined chair carefully constructed from solid timber. The precise and refined balance between the structure and the surfaces, assembled by hand using precision crafted pieces add to the value of Maritime.
