Found in virtually every country in the world, the ubiquitous McDonald’s restaurant might not be the first place that springs to mind when talking about noteworthy, contemporary interior design but it’s all due to change thanks to the Parisian product designer Patrick Norguet who has just completed a revamp of fast-food giant’s Villefranche-de-Lauragais restaurant located 40 km away from Toulouse.
Encompassing ‘several eating choices from eating standing up for lone teenagers, alcoves providing privacy to family table service, a small revolution at Mc Donald’s with digital control terminals integrated into the base and distributed throughout the restaurant’, the new, comparatively muted décor features a variety of novel materials such as birch plywood, sheet metal, concrete and ceramic flooring. A further six, based on the same concept, McDonald’s venues are to open throughout France.
