‘M.a.s.s.a.s.’, an abbreviation from a rather curious while perhaps hinting amalgam of words: ‘Moroso, Asymmetric, Sofa, System, Adorably, Stitched’, is the latest collection of generously-sized sofas and armchairs developed by the acclaimed Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola. Manufactured by the Italian furniture specialists Moroso, the collection features a decorative, raised stitching which runs along the edges of the upholstered pieces.
More about the collection:
‘M.a.s.s.a.s is the new collection by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso. The shape appears compact and controlled, yet well-defined cuts and lines map out the fabric asymmetrically. Visible raised stitching, like tacking, runs around the perimeter until deconstructing its linear aesthetic. The structure is in polyurethane foam and the particularly soft upholstery is the product of a bonded combination of fabric and wadding.’
