Leoni Werle’s Pilu lamp was chosen for imm cologne’s [D3] contest for its innovative base and lampshade. The shape of the lamp’s base allows it to switch between two different positions, like a seesaw.
Correspondingly, the lamp shade, connected by a one-directional joint, moves according to the angle of the base. The joint allows the light to be directed downwards even when the lamp is in the angled position.
Standing straight Pilu can be used as a regular floor lamp with its light shining down the bar and serves as an indirect light source. In the angled position it can be used as a reading light, next to a sofa or desk. Photos: Annika Feuss.
