With ‘sur les rivages’ the designers – in tight collaboration with Osmose association, try to revive traditional Cambodian crafts. Together with the women of Saray cooperative from the floating village of Prek Toal they revaluate the weaving craft of water hyacinth.
“This aquatic plant is harmful because it causes many environmental, sanitary and economic problems…. the idea of this project was to experiment this organic material and the weaving techniques, in order to find new applications for the invasive plant”, the designers explain.
