'Gaudi Stool' by Bram Geenen
The Dutch designer Bram Geenen founded his studio Geenen two years ago, while he was still studying at the Utrecht School of Arts. His newest work, the ‘Gaudi Stool’ shows once more the constructive talent, which the 25 year old demonstrated already with his previous creations.
The shell of this ultra-light stool is made of carbon fibre and supported by a beam-grid substructure, which was produced by using rapid-prototying techniques.

“The shape of the stool was defined in the same way that Antoni Gaudi designed the structure of his churches: by making a model out of hanging chains, and so letting gravity determine the strongest shape for taking forces”, says Bram Geenen.
