Fanny Aronsen, 15th November 1955 - 3rd July 2011

Earlier today, with tremendous sadness Architonic has learnt that Fanny Aronsen, one of the most prominent Swedish textile designers has passed away on 3 July having lost her battle against cancer. She was 55.

Born in Malmö to a Swedish mother and Norwegian father in 1955, Fanny Aronsen has lived and worked in many European countries before returning to her native Sweden and establishing the namesake textile design studio – FANNYARONSEN- in Stockholm in 1998. Renowned for her meticulous attention to detail, use of natural materials and the much-admired Scandinavian aesthetics, in the course of her distingueshed career, Aronsen received several awards for her designs: the German Rote Punkt, the Swedish Utmärkt Svensk Form, and the Dutch awards Mobila Innovative Prijs and Goed Industrieel Ontwerp.

The team at Architonic wishes to express their sincere condolences to Fanny Aronsen’s family, friends, work colleagues and the many people whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
