The Tokyo based architect and designer Junya Ishigami created amongst others this series of wire chairs for the Italian manufacturer Living Divani. The clearly distorted shape turns the minimalist archetype into a playful family of ironic figures.
Here is what the designer explains:
“Chairs that live in harmony, like a family. Whilst they are all similar, each chair has a slightly different shape, and its own personality. There is a wide chair, a tall chair, a short chair, a normal chair and a stool. It’s fun to choose which chair to sit on, depending on the day’s mood. It’s also fun to decide which is your favourite chair. Like a family sitting around a table, so the chairs are arranged around the table.”
