Bd Barcelona, the Spanish company which was founded in 1972 by the well-known architect Oscar Tusquets, presented a range of new tables at this year´s Salone del Mobile designed by Konstantin Grcic. The collaboration seemed to be a real hit and the results are remarkable. Once more Bd Barcelona was able to underline its special production abilities when it comes to extruded aluminium profiles.

Grcic has been inspired by classic Bd pieces, such as the Hypóstila shelf unit (in production since 1979), in developing a tabletop of extruded aluminium with a minimal profile and for lengths of up to 360 cm. The table board can be mounted on a stone, metal or wooden base. A nice and for the designer typical detail is the open profile on the short side of the table board, which can be closed if required, though.
