From October 7th through October 16th the projects of MAS-Luxe graduates of l’ECAL/Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne are exhibited in the Lausanne Palace. The successful concept of MAS-Luxe class was first launched in October 2008 and gives the opportunity to students from all over the world to apply for a master class programm which collaborates with renowned companies like Audemars Piguet, Hublot, Nespresso, Bernardaud, TAG Aviation, Reuge or Christofle.
The 2011 MAS-Luxe was directed by the London Design Duo Ed Barber and Jay Osgerby to give some new interpretations to the famous “Harcourt” glass, an iconographic product of Baccarat, which celebrates its 170th anniversary in 2011. Although the design remained the same since its original design 170 years ago, it became a classic and was found on the tables of Napoleon III as well as Jean-Paul II – and maybe on Sarkozy’s, too
At the same occasion, a new collection by Jaime Hayon for Baccarat and two lustres designed by Phillipe Starck are shown.
