‘An homage to the world of astronautics’, this futuristic series of carved porcelain vases has been created by the young Canadian designer and recent Luxury Design graduate (MAS-Luxe)
Guillaume Noiseux and manufactured by the French porcelain specialists Bernardaud. Inspired by his fascination with the conquest of space and ‘space travel and the aesthetics and poetry behind space shuttles and satellites’, the collection consists of Bernardaud’s preexisting designs which were reinterpreted and decorated by Noiseux.
About the project:
‘The brief for this project was to decorate existing pieces Bernardaud brought us, for some reason I immediately flashed on the vases and thought of space capsules. Probably because I’m obsessed with space travel and the aesthetics and poetry behind space shuttles and satellites. I wanted to do something unusual and futuristic with porcelain. Luckily Bernardaud invited me to test the engravings and decorate the pieces. The final collection was made of course by master craftsmen at the manufacture. Working with them is something I will never forget.’
