Design brand Made in Ratio will be showcasing its second furniture collection at the concept gallery Spazio Verger at the upcoming 2014 edition of Fuori Salone in Milan.
Designed and developed by Creative Director Brodie Neill, Made in Ratio combines forward thinking design and the heritage of craftsmanship, material and technique. Collection 2 consists of five new pieces and five new materials. “The Stem Stool has a sculptural simplicity yet functional elegance, the cast 100% recycled aluminum element swivels and encompasses the stem, footrest and seat in one.” says Made in ratio. “This piece builds on the same biomorphic forms as the Supernova table in Collection 1 and is also cast in the same foundry in the UK. New materials and processes such as thermoformed PET felt have been utilised to striking effect. The stackable stool, for example, is made from recycled drinking bottles and is also 100% recyclable itself.”
“The Tetra shelving system has endless possibilities and builds on the ideas of multiples, creating a range of functions from a repeated unit. The name comes from the tessellation found in the scales of a tetra fish but also references the retro computer game Tetrus with its interwoven building blocks. Each unit is made from European White Oak fashioned into perfectly proportioned trapezoid that can be stacked and repeated to create a multitude of configurations.”
“Constructed from polished stainless steel and glass, the Prism coffee table has a dynamic design featuring three interconnected elements, which creating a visual vortex in the triangular structure.”
