The designers at Yonoh studio were inspired by the 1960’s film “The World of Susie Wong” for ‘Chou’, a series of table and pendant lights for Spanish design brand LZF. Modelled on archetypal paper lamps from Asia, Chou is made with wood veneer instead of paper.
Chou is one of twelve new lights in LZF’s ‘High Fidelity’ lighting collection for 2013. “A collection of lighting that brings past aesthetics into the present while at the same time exploring new ways to make light and shadow intertwine and propose new lighting solutions from delicately treated wood.” says LZF.
LZF’s launch of High Fidelity is supported by a novel campaign that matches music and graphics with each of the new lights in the collection. “12 songs, 12 album covers, 12 posters, 12 almanac pages and 12 animations to accompany 12 lamps.” The music and the presentation are a tribute to the iconic album covers of sixties jazz records and the popular soundtrack themes of the 70s.
