London-based designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby launched the ‘Button’ and ‘Tobi Ishi’ tables for B&B Italia at the Salone Del Mobile in Milan last week.
Button tables are a family of side tables that can be used on their own or as a group. The constant design feature is the cylindrical shaped leg and lipped top reminiscent of a button. All the tops are in marble with high edge that takes on the appearance of a tray.
The off-set monolithic legs and cantilevered top, features that make Barber & Osgerby’s Tobi Ishi recognisable are still the key components of the Low Tobi Ishi table. Only available in four different finishes: light, grey, black and smoked, the choice was created to highlight the natural handcrafted appearance of a multipurpose table without sharp corners that, with its rounded shapes, is extremely practical when placed in front of a sofa.
