The Vicenza-based practice of architect and designer Carlo Dal Bianco has realised the lavish renovation of the Bisazza Headquarters located in the north-eastern Italian city of Alte near Vicenza. The entire project took nearly a decade to complete and the new mosaic-cladded premises draw inspiration from a spectrum of disciplines and historical movements including the architecture of Ancient Egypt, art by the Ukiyo-e master Hokusai or Neo-Classical works of Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
The building, which was previously used for mosaic production, was completed in 2010 and now comprises several exhibition halls, a library and a gallery as well as a number of colour-themed meeting rooms including the ‘Black Room’ which features an Antonio Canova-inspired mosaic or the monochromatic ‘Blue Room’.
