A house by Lisbon-based Estúdio Urbano Arquitectos located in nearby Belas Clube de Campo, a private residential development, uses topography to maximize exterior areas and offer privacy to the users.
The project extends through three floors; the first contains the garage, maid room, laundry room and technical area; the second, the office, living room, kitchen and bedrooms; and the third floor is entirely occupied by the master bedroom.
“The tension between the house and garden is obtained through the creation of ‘balconies’ that are intentionally higher than needed.” say the architects. “The same tension was created between the house and the sky through the thick solar shades. Indigenous vegetation occupies the extensive gardened areas.”
