'A380' by Ineke Hans for Ahrend

Ventura Lambrate is another design district that has to offer a range of promising exhibitions during this year’s Salone del Mobile. It was founded and is organised by Organisation in Design from The Netherlands. The Dutch manufacturer Ahrend will present its newest pieces there, amongst them the ‘A380’ chair by Ineke Hans. The chair is completely made from injection moulded, recycled PET.


The Dutch designer Ineke Hans presented the new coat stand ‘Corner Guy’ for the Dutch manufacturer van Esch and decorative acoustic panels for the Swedish manufacturer Offecct. We had the chance to get some personal explanations from her about these works. Enjoy!

The Dutch manufacturer van Esch is currently presenting this new coat rack, designed by Ineke Hans, at the INTERIEUR 2010 in Kortrijk. For this design the Arnhem based designer was inspired by the racks you often see in the changing rooms of sports clubs and schools. “They are kind of iconic; everybody immediately can picture them. It is their simplicity that appeals to me”, she explains.

The Dutch Studio Makkink & Bey recently completed the interior design for MVRDV’s impressing ‘Balancing Barn’ in Suffolk, UK. The Rotterdam based architects were commissioned by Living Architecture, a Britsh not-for-profit organisation that is dedicated to introducing the best of contemporary architecture to the public by offering a chance to rent houses for a holiday designed by some of the most talented architects at work today, such as Peter Zumthor, Michael & Patty Hopkins, NORD.

Furnishing the space with pieces by Dutch designers such as Hella Jongerius, Ineke Hans and Gerrit Rietvelt Makkink & Bey designed an interior which underlines the barn-character of house.
