San Francisco-based Aidlin Darling Design has been awarded the COTE PLUS Award, named for the AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) who each year selects their Top Ten Green Projects, for the Aidlin Darling-designed 355 11th Street project in San Francisco.
The COTE PLUS recognizes projects that are not only transformed by sustainable practices and design, but continue to evolve and respond to the existing design over time.
The design of 355 11th Street won a COTE Top Ten Green Project award in 2010 based on the original transformation of the former warehouse into a LEED-NC Gold–certified mixed-use office building and LEED-CI Platinum–certified restaurant. The 2013 PLUS award is based on the positive effects the buildings design has had on its constituents, and how the design has influenced and grown further measures of sustainability.
“Aidlin Darling’s approach to design seeks to connect to the inherent spirit of a space, intertwining our experience with our environment through design that is both rational and sensual.” says Aidlin Darling Design.
