‘MyWorld’ lounge system by Philippe Starck for Cassina
French designer Philippe Starck has created a simple yet hi-tech design for ‘MyWorld’, a modular lounge system that invites the user to be both relaxed and stay in contact, “a challenge that mirrors the needs and habits in a constantly changing world where work and leisure have an essential role.” says Cassina.
‘Deep-sea’ shelving by Nendo for Glas Italia
At next month’s Milan Design Week Japanese design studio Nendo will be showing ‘Deep-sea’, a furnishings collection composed of a low table and shelving unit for glass manufacturer Glas Italia.

‘Element’ furniture collection by Tokujin Yoshioka

Painted steel threads in various diameters form the base of ‘Orion’, a coffee table design by Jarrod Lim for Bonaldo. The overlapping rings give the coffee table an architectural look that is softened by the opaque glass of the table top.
‘Cowrie Rocker’ by Brodie Neill for Made in Ratio
New London-based design brand Made in Ratio will debut itself and an innovative furniture and lighting collection at Salone del Mobile 2013 in Milan. “Underpinned by the ideas of movement and modularity, the individual pieces will each have multiple applications.” says creative director Brodie Neill. The Cowrie Rocker (above) and Cowrie Chair, take their shape from a single piece of plywood curved to a monocoque form.
