BAU Munich 2013 as seen by Architonic

‘Pilu’ lamp by Leoni Werle
Leoni Werle’s Pilu lamp was chosen for imm cologne’s [D3] contest for its innovative base and lampshade. The shape of the lamp’s base allows it to switch between two different positions, like a seesaw.

Fanions rug by BKS
The Fanions rug which was shown at young talents competition [D3] CONTEST at imm cologne plays with an optical illusion. Traditional rug fringes become modern graphic elements that give the impression of an axonometric projection.Therefore the rather flat felt surface gets a 3D look, that transforms the rug into a flying carpet.

The New Old Light by Kimu Studio
Studio Kimu is formed by Lin YiHsien, Shih Hsiao Chun and Yeh TingWei. The three designers from Taiwan presented a pendant light, which mixes eastern and western stereotypical designs and by combining them, a very playful lamp is created:
From the – at first sight – simple lampshade, a paper part which resembles the traditional Asian lantern can be pulled out.
It looks like a cocoon, which is growing out of the lampshade and transforms not only the shape of the lamp but also the quality of light.
