‘Saski’ chair by Jean Louis Iratzoki for Alki

Strips of wood intertwine to form the seat of ‘Saski’, the recently-launched pared-down chair created by French designer Jean Louis Iratzoki for Alki. Assembled with the use of digitally-controlled technology, the effortlessly simple ‘Saski’ is made of solid oak and is available in several wood finishes. (more…)

Vienna-based architectural practice Architects Collective have recently completed this detached 300-square-meters residence whose L-shaped structure was inspired by the traditional architecture of the Austria’s Burgenland region. Featuring a striking, slanted roof and boasting panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the two-storey L House has been developed to ‘merge the needs of it’s residents with the environment’ and features a number of energy-efficient solutions such as triple panel glassing. Copenhagen-based Søren Rose Studio have recently realised this series of New York-inspired, limited-edition lamps called ‘Tribeca Edition 1’. With a noticeable industrial flair, the striking, six-piece collection is composed of handmade brass pendant lights, all of which have been assembled from vintage parts found in the US. We found ourselves particularly drawn to the delicate, molecule-resembling five-lightbulb model featured below. (more…)
